Any ideas? [Jan. 12th, 2008|07:44 am]
Studio Ghibli Cosplay!

[mood |determined]

Hello all! :D I'm new to the community, and I'd like to ask something.

I plan on cosplaying as Muska from Laputa: Castle in The Sky in the near future, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips?
I'm female, so that puts at least one damper in the cosplay, ahaha... But regardless, I really hope this turns out good. I just got a new sewing machine for Chrismtas, and I hope that one of my first outfits I make will be Muska's.

So does anyone have any tips? OH. And I've looked at the previous posts, and they're lovely. |D I'll post my Muska picutes here too, of course~

Sophie Hatter Costume Relisted!

And marked down! You've got one more chance at this great costume! =D

Custom made and worn only twice, this is a gorgeous, fun-to-wear costume that guarantees lots of attention! Amaretto solid yellow dress with cotton neckline detail and LOTS of fluffy ruffles and a VERY full skirt, this is a EXCELLENT quality costume with YEARS of wear left in it! SUPERB construction and attention to detail, easy to wear and move in, this is a perfect replica of Sophie's dress in the end of the film! Hat is included! This costume will fit ladies approximately size 4-6. Bust 34-40, waist 25-30, (no need for hip measurement, skirt is VERY full!). Wig and pin are NOT included.

Click here to visit the auction page!

Don't forget! I'm also still making CUSTOM Sophie dresses for folks, as well as Sailormoon wigs! Check out faeriewings.net for more info and easy ordering!

haku's pants [Nov. 4th, 2006|11:42 am]
Studio Ghibli Cosplay!

Hi! I found this community through the 'studio ghibli' community and I really love all your costumes! They're all really beautiful :)

Anyway, I've been wanting to do a Haku costume for a while.

When I was researching Haku's pants, I think they came up as sashinuki.

Does this mean that his pants also have the pleats that the usual hakama come with?

I've been looking at this site also for reference:
some pictures here of traditional outfits
But can't really tell if they had pleats or not x.x and usually animation (I think) tends to omit details like that.

Also - as to the outer tunic. Just to check, but the sleeves are attatched around halfway down the back and front of the body, for only around 3-4cm? How do people keep the top part of the sleeve falling down?

Thank you, if you can help!

I'm hoping to do a set of ghibli costumes in the upcoming months for my friends and I, so I'll probably be back to ask more questions ^^;

Gedo Senki: Tales from Earthsea [Jul. 13th, 2006|04:15 pm]
Studio Ghibli Cosplay!

Well, everyone else beat me to it, but here's a post from the MODS, for once! XD

kiraqueen and I got in a big damn hurry and did Gedo Senki cosplay for Anime Expo, she as Prince Arren and I as Therru. We had a lovely time and no one knew who we were. XD But both being fans of the Earthsea books, we felt very well established in the characters, and ran headlong into the cardinal cosplay sin of cosplaying a character who isn't out yet. XD

So here we are!

More this way...

"Protect me..."

The burned girl...

Prince Arren of Enlad

We can't wait for the movie! =D
